To show young people that Christianity isn't all about organs, sermons and cold churches and to relay the message of God in an environment where they feel at home and with a style of music that they enjoy.
Decapolis are a young Christian punk band from the Lake District area of the UK They range in age from 18 up to 23 yrs. They have written around 16 songs in the style similar to MxPx and Dogwood who are both Christian bands that are successful both in the Christian music business as well as the secular pop world.
Decapolis was dreamed about over 5 yrs ago and came to fruition approx. 2 years ago. It is made up of three local bodies namely,
Peter ~ guitarist, writer, vocalist and the sensible one.
Dan ~ lead vocalist, main writer, red-hot drummer and the least sensible
one.
Amy ~ shy but plays a mean bass guitar
Amy attends Springmount Christian Fellowship in Barrow-in-Furness, Peter & Dan attend Ulverston Vinyard Church
On stage they are funny, crazy, colourful and red-hot.
The aim is to hit the youth of this universe with music and words that give encouragement and life to a drug and alcohol crazed culture.
They are able to offer a full package of MUSIC, HUMOUR & HOPE
